Weinsberg Pellets wanted to further strengthen the sustainability of its wood pellet production site in the Waldviertel region of Austria. Producing pellets from freshly pressed chips sourced from sustainably managed spruce forests, the company needed a large-scale solar PV solution that would help power its manufacturing operations with cleaner electricity generated directly on site
Our tailored solutions
Wewise delivered a large-scale photovoltaic installation tailored to the customer’s manufacturing site, combining both ground-mounted and rooftop solar capacity to make the best use of the available space.
The project includes a total installed capacity of 1.8 MWp, with 1,400 kWp delivered through a ground-mounted system and 400 kWp installed on the roof. Across 9,143 sqm of module area, the installation includes 4,500 modules, enabling Weinsberg Pellets to cover part of its annual electricity needs with cleaner on-site generation and take a further step towards more sustainable manufacturing.
