Hardangerbadet, a multidisciplinary leisure centre situated by the fjord in Øystese, western Norway, combines a competition pool, family pool, hydrotherapy facilities, health services and a café under one roof. With high and continuous energy demands typical of aquatic centres, the facility needed a solar solution capable of handling a complex roof layout across both pitched and flat surfaces, while maximising clean energy output in a spectacular Nordic environment.
Solcellekraft delivered a 243.52 kWp hybrid solar PV system, combining rail-mounted high-efficiency 550W panels on pitched roof sections with ballast-secured 410W panels on flat roof areas. A technically tailored installation designed to make the most of every available surface.
The result: an expected 155,000 kWh of renewable electricity generated annually, directly reducing grid dependency for one of Hardangerfjord's most prominent public facilities.
