Vodafone has committed to reaching net zero emissions across its full value chain by 2040. Faced with rising energy costs and the need to back its climate commitments with concrete action, the company sought a long-term renewable energy solution — and turned to Flogas, to structure and deliver a Corporate Power Purchase Agreement (CPPA).

Flogas supported Vodafone over 18 months from the earliest stages — educating internal stakeholders, aligning distributed decision-makers across a complex global organisation, identifying wind farm partners and negotiating the final deal as counterparty.
The result was a landmark: Vodafone became the first Irish telecoms company to sign a CPPA in Ireland. Together with Vantage Towers, Vodafone now sources 30% of its annual electricity consumption directly from Derrynadivva Wind Farm in Co. Mayo — an 8.5 MW wind farm generating 19,000 MWh of clean energy per year, the equivalent of powering 4,500 homes.
