Villard Medical, a leading French designer and manufacturer of hospital furniture based in Neuville-sur-Sarthe, near Le Mans, had been watching its electricity costs climb steadily. By end of 2023, they had increased by 20%. With a strong commitment to French manufacturing and a CSR strategy that included working with local businesses, the time had come to act. Solar PV quickly emerged as the natural answer.

Villard Medical turned to Wewise Le Mans, a trusted local solar expert in the Pays de la Loire region. The fit was immediate: Solewa's reputation, local roots and partnership approach gave Villard Medical the confidence to take the leap.
Solewa delivered a complete solar carport solution, building two solar canopies at the front and rear of the property, covering a total of approximately 1,150 m². The installation produces 230,000 kWh of electricity annually and includes real-time energy monitoring software as well as a full maintenance agreement.
The impact has been significant: Villard Medical now self-consumes 65% of its electricity on-site and generates 40% savings on its annual energy bill, while strengthening its eco-responsibility credentials for the long term.
