Sailing Toward a Sustainable Future: Wewise Teams Up with Rising Star Pierre Quiroga
At Wewise, we're embarking on an exciting new adventure. We've just partnered with one of France's most promising skippers, Pierre Quiroga, who'll be taking the helm of our Ocean Fifty trimaran through 2027. This collaboration marks a defining moment for us, bringing together our passion for renewable energy innovation with the thrill of competitive sailing.
A Match Made on the High Seas
What happens when you combine cutting-edge energy expertise with world-class sailing talent? That's exactly what we asked ourselves when searching for our next skipper. The answer came in the form of Pierre Quiroga, a sailor whose meteoric rise in offshore racing has turned heads across the maritime world.
Building on his Olympic sailing and match racing experience, Quiroga set his sights on a new challenge in 2016, offshore racing. Five years later, he clinched victory in the prestigious Solitaire du Figaro, proving his tactical brilliance and unwavering determination. Most recently, he powered his way to a podium finish in the 2023 Transat Jacques Vabre, showcasing his mastery of the challenging Ocean Fifty class.
But what makes this specific partnership special? It's the values we share with Pierre: a dedication to innovation, an eye for precision, and the courage to explore new horizons. Just as he navigates the seas, we're charting new paths in energy solutions.
A Partnership with Purpose
This collaboration goes beyond the waves. At Wewise, we are leading the charge in renewable energy solutions for medium-sized enterprises. By partnering with Quiroga, we're demonstrating how the principles of elite sailing, precision, innovation, and sustainable performance align perfectly with the future of energy management.
The Ocean Fifty Wewise has already touched water in La Turballe, with Quiroga at the helm for its maiden voyages. As the team fine-tunes their strategy and prepares for the challenges ahead, one thing is clear: this partnership isn't just about winning races, it's about charting a course toward a more sustainable future.
The Road Ahead: An Ambitious 2025 Calendar
Our Wewise Sailing Team isn't wasting any time. Their action-packed 2025 schedule kicks off with the legendary Rolex Fastnet Race in July, followed by the intense 24H Ultim in September. These challenges will serve as crucial qualifying events for the ultimate test, the Transat Café L'Or, setting sail from Le Havre to Martinique in October.
"This opportunity isn't just about sailing," Quiroga shares with evident enthusiasm. "It's about pursuing a dream, competing in the Route du Rhum in an oceanic trimaran, while being part of something bigger. When I met with Philippe Portal, we immediately connected over our shared passion for the sea and its environment. This isn't just a racing program; it's a mission to prove that performance and sustainability can go hand in hand."
Stay tuned for more updates as this exciting journey unfolds, including the upcoming announcement of Quiroga's co-skipper for the Transat Café L'Or.
