Customer Needs
Villard Medical is a one of France’s leading company in the design, manufacturing and distribution of medical equipment and furniture for health care facilities. The key drivers behind the project included:
- The need to lower the reliance on traditional energy sources and their price fluctuations.
- A desire to minimize rising electricity costs for the manufacturing facility. In 2023 Villard Medical’s electricity cost had surged by 20%.
- Instability of forecasting and a desire to use clean energy.
- A desire to use a local business as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility strategy.
- Thus a cost effective energy solution was required.
The Solution Delivered by Solewa
Through a successful partnership with Solewa, Villard Medical has taken substantial steps toward becoming more sustainable:
- Photovoltaic Installations: A total of two solar car ports were designed to be placed at the front and back of the property which totals about 1,150 square meters of coverage.
- Energy Efficiency and Savings: The two car ports combined produce 230,000 kWh annually. This has allowed Villard Medical to not be prone to price fluctuations with 65% of their energy being self consumed, which has generated a 40% saving annually for the business.
- Environmental Impact: Working with Solewa, Villard medical has been able to improve their environmental credentials, which has helped improve their brand reputation.
